Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company (PGJDC) is a subsidiary of Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation, Ministry of Production, Government of Pakistan. The charter of the Company is to enhance the value chain productivity of gems and jewellery industry of Pakistan from Mine to Market. The Company aims to enhance exports through facilitation, technology up-gradation, skill development and marketing/branding initiatives.

Organized Pakistan Pavilion and led Trade delegates of the country in 27 International Gems and Jewellery Exhibitions, facilitating 305 companies. |

Organized Pakistan International Gems and Jewellery Exhibition 2012 in Karachi showcasing products of 78 exhibitors from across Pakistan and was visited by delegates from various countries. |

Successfully Organized 27 Gem Bazaars/Exhibitions to facilitate around 1000 traders/companies in Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta and Lahore. |

Trained 6300 participants through 480 training programs in the field of Gemstone Mining, Gemstone Identification, Gemstone Processing, Jewellery Manufacturing & Jewellery Designing. |

Introduced new technology in the Gems and Jewellery industry including CAD/CAM, revolutionizing Gems and Jewellery industry quantitatively and qualitatively leading towards job creation and enhancing exports. |

The proposals for policy reforms have been initiated which is approved and incorporated in the Trade Policy providing a conducive environment for export growth. |

Developed Promotional Strategy for Export of Gems and Jewellery supported by Marketing Plan & presented to the Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan on March 7, 2012 which was approved in principle. |

An interactive E-Commerce web portal was launched for developing B2B and B2C linkages among the local and international Gems and Jewellery stakeholders. |

The export from Gems and Jewellery sector was at USD 47.53 Million in 2006-2007 which increased to USD 1.21 Billion in July 2012 - Feb 2013. |
